Midway Volunteer Fire Department
We took delivery of our new engine on saturday August 18, 2007. The new engine is a Pierce Peterbilt pumper. It has a 2000 gpm pump with 1100 gal. of water. It also has a 50 gal. foam tank. We hope to have it in service very soon. Everyone is very anxious to be able to run this engine on our fires and wrecks. This engine will replace our old pumper that is 21 years old. We will run this truck as our first run truck on all first due structure fires and all motor vehicle crashes. We hope to soon have the new up to date extrication equipment on this truck to better serve our community and anyone passing thru.
With this new engine and our tanker and super tanker we will roll out of the station with 11,500 gal. of water to any fire. We are setting the standard for rural departments. Our ISO rating now is a 9 which is the highest you can get. Our goal with the two new trucks we have is to be rated as a 5 which is unheard of in a rural department. Midway is working hard on becoming the best. In our eyes we are "The Proud Few"
